C Climate change poses a significant threat to our planet and all of us. To address this challenge, our project, CLIMA-KIT, funded by Erasmus+, is taking proactive steps. We focus on educating children aged 8 to 12 because we believe knowledge is the key to a healthier planet. Through our 7-partner, 18-month initiative, we're developing and implementing an education program. This program equips children with climate literacy and encourages environment-friendly behaviors. Our approach involves developing digital and hands-on science materials for classrooms and enhancing teachers' knowledge and skills to effectively teach about climate change.
Children and young people are currently feeling the direct impact of climate change, a reality that will persist in the near future. Their exposure to climate crisis news may lead to eco-anxiety or apathy. Hence, teachers must be well-informed, sensitive, and supportive. Our approach emphasizes scientific facts over alarming rhetoric, promoting critical thinking and addressing emotional needs. Our innovative curriculum, featuring hands-on science experiments, enhances both students' and teachers' understanding of climate change. Additionally, our user-friendly online tool caters to ages 8-12, ensuring easy accessibility.
Together, we're contributing to fostering a generation that understands and actively addresses climate change.
